SELF Foundation Cornerstone Programs
  • The Day at the Ballpark is a Sports program that will bring underprivileged children each year from the greater Houston area to Minute Maid Park for a day with the Houston Astros.  The program will also be offered to children in other cities when the Astros play other MLB teams.  This program will give youth an invaluable opportunity for personal growth at an early age, which is a critical step toward a better society.
  • The SELF Foundation Education initiative which intent to award scholarships annually to deserving students.  In time, the Foundation will establish a Scholarship Program for college-bound students and student-athletes to apply. The applicants will be required to demonstrate their academic success, athletic accomplishments, character, leadership, and service to the community.  Future Partners include C-Stem.
  • The SELF Foundation Life-Skills initiatives which provides grants, in-kind donations and additional resources to support non-profit organizations in Houston and surrounding areas.  Partnerships will support and benefit Breast Cancer, Lung Cancer, and Asthma research.   In time, the Foundation will establish other Life-Skills partnerships with other entities that include GED Educational Programs for Adults, Drug Prevention Programs, Feeding Homeless Shelters and Santa for a Day Toy Drives for kids, among others.
  • The SELF Foundation Faith initiatives will provide and partner with like-type entities that support spiritual growth. Building strong spiritual families and marriages will be a focal point of our Faith Program.  Fellowship groups, Book Clubs and Spiritual enrichment programs will be provided at the SELF Center.  Partnerships with other entities may include local churches.
